Pastor’s Note 05/30/2024

As we turn the page to another month in our calendar, June marks the start of summer and a time for changing our routines. Whether it is going for walks in the evening or heading down to the beach to cool off, doing things differently in the summer is natural. So let me encourage you to change your routine to include prayer.

Once again, I want to invite you to join our church in praying throughout the summer months 3 times a day.

Here are the prayers:

Morning Prayer
“I gratefully thank you, O living and eternal King. For You have returned my soul within me with compassion, abundant is Your faithfulness.”

Mid-Day Prayer at 12:12pm
The LORD is my shepherd I shall not want,
He makes me lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside still waters; He restores my soul.
He leads me in the right paths, for His Name’s sake. Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I fear no evil,
for You are with me. Your rod and Your staff
– they comfort me.You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the LORD my whole life long.

Evening Prayer
Blessed are You, Lord our God, King of the Universe, who brings sleep to my eyes and slumber to my eyelids. May it be Your will, Lord my God and God of my ancestors, that I lie down in peace and that I arise in peace.

So, I hope that you will join with me and others from LCPC for the next 12 weeks of summer, praying three times per day . . .

  • In the morning (when you awake)
  • At mid-day (at 12:12pm so we can all                remember)
  • In the evening (before you go to sleep)
