A Note from Pastor Tim. . .

I am excited about what will be taking place next weekend with our Back-to-Church BBQ on Saturday, September 18 and Sunday Worship on Sunday, September 19.

The BBQ (on Saturday, September 18 begins at 5pm) will have burgers and hot dogs, along with side-dishes and desserts provided by all of you. We will have a band, along with door prizes, a bounce house for families and a petting zoo. It should be a fun “re-gathering” of our church family but it is also a chance for us to invite friends to come be a part of the fun.

On Sunday, September 19, our worship service will feature a guest organist and the start of a new sermon series, The Good and Beautiful God. Worship will start at 9:45am (note the new start time) and we will have goodies to eat and coffee to drink before and after the worship service. The Adult Sunday School class will be starting back again after worship and will begin a 7- week series on Heaven. It should be a good time to be back at church.

With all of these things happening it will be important for you to make personal invitations to others!

The best way that we can let people know about our church is by personal invitation. We need to tell our neighbors and our friends about our church and the good things that are happening (like our Back-to-Church Weekend, Adult Sunday School, new Bible Studies and Small Groups). Your personal invitation is the best way to do that.

You have a week to pray about who you will be inviting but go and invite your friends and your neighbors and then tell them to come. God will be in the midst of your conversations.

Know that I am praying for you and I hope to see you on Sunday.

A Note from Pastor Tim . . .

“I lift up my eyes to the mountains—
where does my help come from?
My help comes from the LORD,
the Maker of heaven and earth.”

Psalm 121:1 & 2

Last Sunday we learned from Psalm 121 that we have a God who is looking out for us. He watches over us in all of life’s ups and downs and He will be with us now and in the future.

I don’t know if you are like me but I need to be reminded of this over and over and over again. I may come to a difficult situation in my life and I will think that God doesn’t care and that He has forgotten about me and my situation. That is where God’s Word and God’s people come into play.

I need to read the Scriptures (Psalm 121; Psalm 23; Proverbs 3:5,6; Romans 8 come to mind) and I need God’s people to remind me of God’s trustworthiness during my difficult times.

That is why it is so important to be in relationships with Godly people. They will be the ones to remind us of God’s faithfulness and they will be the ones who will be praying with us.

One of the traditions of LCPC has been having people available after each church worship service to pray with those who would like prayer. We are once again starting this each week having people available to pray.

You may be going through a difficult situation or life circumstance and it is good to have others that can pray with us and remind us that God is with us, that He is good and trustworthy and generous and that He loves us.

So if you are going through a difficult time or if you know someone that is going through a difficult time, know that there will be people available to pray with you each Sunday.

Have a great rest of the week and know that I am praying for you.

Looking forward to seeing you on Sunday.

Announcement:

A Note from Pastor Tim

For the past two-weeks, out of an abundance of caution due to several positive COVID-19 test results from active LCPC church members, meetings and worship services were suspended on the church campus. During this two-week period, no other positive COVID test results from attendance at church meetings or events have been reported so, at last night’s Session meeting, it was approved to resume on-campus worship and on-campus meetings.

We are asking that moving forward, for those who attend worship or meetings on the church campus, masks be worn indoors. The Session will reevaluate this at the next Session meeting in September.

Thank you for your understanding and our prayer is that we will continue to look out for one another, caring for each other when we see a need and loving one another.

I am praying for you and for our church.

Have a great rest of the week and I will see you on Sunday.
