“Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign:

Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a Son, and shall call His Name Immanuel.”

Isaiah 7:14 (ESV)

As we celebrated Christmas, there were many wonderful words from the Scriptures that helped us celebrate Christ’s birth. Each one reminds us of God’s promises to His people. The miracle of Christ’s birth is a reflection of God’s love for us and His desire to be near us, to dwell among us.

In Isaiah, Christ is called Immanuel, “God with us,” which is a remarkable gift to a broken world. A little Baby was God incarnate. This astonishing prophesy became reality. The eternal love that God offers each of us — both as we celebrate Christmas and throughout the year — lives in our hearts and is reflected in our relationships with one another and with our world.

May each of us follow Christ’s example of the incarnation, being Christ’s hands and feet to those around us.
