Pastor’s Note 3/25/21
It is the Thursday before Holy Week and I wanted to get your help as we prepare for Holy Week.
First, your prayers are needed! Nothing is more important than for God’s people to be praying and asking God to be in the midst of all of the planning and preparations for the various activities we will be hosting. As we welcome people to our church campus and to worship services at the Lindo Lake we want God to be present. So please join me as we ask God to be in the midst of each ministry event.

Second, this Saturday, March 27 from 1-3pm we will be hosting our first ever “Easter Car Hop” a drive-thru, stay-in-your-car, Easter experience that is family friendly with COVID limitations. It will be a lot of fun as we pass out Easter eggs that tell the Easter story along with Easter eggs filled with goodies. We also will have some “barnyard” animal friends that families will see, so be sure and tell your friends and neighbors about this experience.
Then on Sunday, March 28 we will celebrate Palm Sunday and Christ’s triumphant entry into Jerusalem. It should be a festive time as we worship together. The service will take place at 10am at the Lindo Lake Pavilion 1.

Next week during Holy Week, we have two different worship experiences. Thursday, April 1 is Maundy Thursday and at 7pm, I will be giving a short reflection on the meaning of Maundy Thursday and offering an opportunity for you to take communion in your home. This is a Zoom invite so be sure and call or email the church office (office@lakesidepc.org) and provide your email address so that you will receive the Zoom invitation. In preparation for home communion you may take the communion elements at the end of our Palm Sunday service, or by stopping by the church office during the week or by getting some bread and fruit of the vine with elements from your home. Then during the Zoom Meeting we will have communion together.
Friday, April 2 is Good Friday, and between 12-3pm we will offer an opportunity to remember Christ’s sacrificial love for us as we walk with Him to the Cross. The Journey to the Cross will be a multi-media experience that will be shown in the LCPC sanctuary on the big screen. You will “journey” with Jesus to the cross, looking at drawings on the screens, reading Scripture, and reflecting on questions provided in a booklet. The experience is approximately 15-minutes in length and at the end, you can participate in communion with Pastor Tim in the Sanctuary. The Journey to the Cross will take place between 12-3pm (the traditional time when Jesus hung on the cross), so come any time between those hours to participate.

Finally, on Sunday, April 4 at 10am, we will celebrate the resurrection of Jesus at an outdoor Easter Celebration Service once again at the Lindo Lake Pavilion 1. This is the perfect chance for you to invite a friend to check out our church. Tell as many people as you can and you can email people to let them know. Here is a script on what you can send:

Let’s see if we can get as many people as we can from Lakeside and other communities in East County to check out our church this Easter at the Lindo Lake Pavilion.
Thanks again for your partnership in the ministry of LCPC and for praying about all of the upcoming ministry opportunities. May God be honored as we celebrate Christ’s resurrection together.

Pastor’s Note 3/19/21
“Your Kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.” Matthew 6:10
When you hear these words spoken what do you think? What does God’s Kingdom look like to you here on earth? Here in Lakeside? How do God’s Kingdom people act? These are important questions to ask as we seek to be Jesus’ disciples here on earth and especially in Lakeside. This is the place where God has planted us to demonstrate His Kingdom values and to expand His kingdom on earth.
I hope that you can join us this Sunday as we learn another lesson from Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount and living out His Kingdom Values. Know that I am praying for you and for our church.
Pastor Tim
