Pastor’s Note 12/15/22

Even though this is the season that we sing “all is calm, all is bright” it seems like our lives feel like anything but calm. The times of preparing for Christmas keep us busier than usual and it makes life a bit hectic.

It is during times like this that we need to be reminded of the simple story of Christmas: of a couple’s journey, the birth of baby, the wonder that God has come to earth.

Celebrating this amazing miracle of God is something that is an important part of our faith as Christians so I want to make sure that you mark your calendar for our Christmas Eve and Christmas Day services. On Christmas Eve at 4:00pm at LCPC we will be having candlelight service where we hear the Christmas story in Scripture and sing Christmas carols.

Then on Sunday, Christmas Day we will have a worship service at 11am celebrating Christ’s birth.

I hope that you can attend and if you have a friend who is looking for a service, be sure to invite them.

See you on Sunday.

Pastor’s Note 12/8/22

With the new year fast approaching, I wanted to take an opportunity to write about end-of-the-year giving to Lakeside Community Presbyterian Church. Like most non-profit organizations, we rely heavily on end-of-the-year giving. The gifts that friends and members of the church give during this time are critical to help meet the budgetary needs of the church as we close out 2022.

So as we come to the end-of-the-year, would you think about giving an extra gift to LCPC? Let me ask that you prayerfully consider any amount that you can afford. It would help us tremendously to finish the year with strong giving. God has been gracious to LCPC over the years and we are trusting God to guide us into a bright future, carried on the prayers and gifts of people like you.

Thanks for all your support and I look forward to seeing you on Sunday.
